Embarking on an Enchanted Journey: Crafting My Forest Table

Welcome to the Storm Table: My Portal to Miniatures and Wargaming

Join me on a adventure as I immerse myself in the world of miniatures and wargaming. The Storm Table is my gateway to a universe where battles, landscapes, and creativity converge.

Crafting My Deep Forest Skirmish Board

Today, I embark on a journey, exploring the art of crafting a Display Wargaming Skirmish Board. On this August twenty-fifth, Each piece of terrain and miniature plays a crucial role in telling a story of conflict, strategy, and skill.

Forward Observer Lookout

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Twenty-fourth of February I dug into my leftover box and pulled out some unused pieces of terrain and then proceeded to slap them together.

I used some Micro Art Studio Catwalk pieces and a ladder I made out of Pegasus hobbies Platform set.
Not sure if it will work out in gameplay as there is not much total cover. I Think I will let my enemy try it out first.

Southern China House part 3

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Eighteenth of February the task of painting the warehouse begun. In my world this warehouse has fallen on some hard times. At one point the walls were a shining white. Now the rain and elements have taken there toll.

The added crates and barrels give some partial cover for my infinity figures and provide some treasure chests for my L5r campaign.
I liked the way this building turned out. May have to break out another one of my wooden house puzzles very soon.

Southern China House part 2

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Seventeenth of February take a look through my window at my outside worktable. I worked on the base for my Southern China House, which I am pretty sure is going to turn into a warehouse of imports and exports.

The Base is simple and I tried to give it the feel of a location you might see in movies such as Once Upon a Time in China or the video game Way of the Samurai.

When it goes to the painting stage I will place crates and other import/export  goods around the base for more cover.

Southern China House part 1

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Sixteenth of February I undertook one of my wooden puzzles from ebay. This one is the "Family in Southern China" by Woodcraft Construction Kit. Runs you about 11 bucks on ebay with free shipping.

I added inside floors and magnetized the roof tiles. I added a staircase and some small details on the foundation and etched the wood lines for painting. I also altered the roof by adding tiles, now miniatures can be placed on without sliding off.

After I create a base for it, and give it some paint it will be perfect for my Yu Jing Infinity army and for my Clan War board and for my L5r campaign.

Keisotsu Butai Combi Rifle

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Thirteenth of February I worked on adding color to one of my front line troops from the Yu Jing army for Infinity. The Keisotsu Butai (Combi Rifle) is an amazing sculpt. He is cast in one piece.

I still need to go back and add shadows and highlights, but as for now he is table ready.

Yu Jing Terrain

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Twelfth of February I am taking a look back at some recently finished Terrain projects. These terrain pieces are doing double duty for my Clan War and Infinity games.

I found the wooden Japanese houses on ebay for 6 bucks. Great deal, some small details and I really liked the way they turned out. Making terrain is an awesome part of this hobby.

Not sure how I would make the terrain around this piece, but it is next on my shopping list.

Keisotsu Butai HMG

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the Tenth of February the second most powerful Keisotsu Butai (-HMG) received some coloring. The official paint job on the Butai is part of the reason I became such a big fan of Infinity and tried to emulate with this figure.

While painting the Butai's HMG I grabbed some of my unfinished Highlanders and gave some color to their weapons as well. As much as the Paint job of the Keisotsu Butai drew me towards Infinity. The chance to field some crazed Scottish Highlanders as an army sealed the deal.

Yu Jing Figures Assemble

Welcome to the Storm Table - a daily blog.

This is a daily recording of my hobby workbench. From day to day there is no telling what spectrum you will view from the miniatures/wargaming hobby.

On this the ninth of February the Yu-Jing forces bolstered the ranks by 4.

A much needed Tokusetsu Butai Doctor/Engineer entered the fray along with three Keisotsu Butai for the front lines.

The mighty O-Yoroi Kidobutai's two crazy Koala's received a pile of rubble via GF9's(Gale Force Nine) Rocky Basing Grit. After some paint the crazy Koala's bases should match the rest of the Urban bases by MAS(Micro Art Studio).
